Promptchan introduced a free account option in October 2026. New users who sign up receive starter Gems and a set number of chat messages at no cost.

The free tier removes the barrier to entry for users wanting to explore the platform before committing to a paid subscription. Existing payment options remain available for users seeking additional Gems or chat capacity beyond the starter allocation.

This change means new users can now test Promptchan's core features without an upfront financial commitment.
